The best Wanderlog alternatives in 2026 — an honest comparison
Wanderlog Pro is $39.99 a year as of August 2026, and its automatic inbox scanning sits behind that. What TripIt, TripTov and the free tier each do better, and who should pick which.
We make TripTov, one of the apps below. Everything stated about another product is as of August 2026, read from that company’s own published pages. We only quote prices we have actually checked this cycle, and we say so below where we haven’t.
First: is Wanderlog actually the problem?
People usually look for an alternative for one of two reasons, and they lead to opposite answers. If the issue is that the features you want sit behind Pro Annual at $39.99 a year, the honest answer may still be Wanderlog, because its free tier is one of the more generous ones in this category: unlimited places, live collaboration, and an itinerary beside a map. If the issue is that Wanderlog organises the trip but never tells you anything about it, that is a different app entirely, not a cheaper one.
TripIt, if you want the trip watched
TripIt has been turning forwarded confirmations into itineraries since 2007 and does it reliably. Pro is $49 a year as of August 2026 and adds the live monitoring: flight status, a seat tracker that tells you when a better seat opens, and a fare tracker for price drops. It is flight-centric and it has two decades of airline edge cases behind it. What it is not is a planner: there is no place discovery or map building, so as a Wanderlog replacement it only works if the planning was never the part you valued.
TripTov, if the worry is what you’re covered for
Ours. It files forwarded confirmations free, including the attachments rather than just the message, and then does the thing none of the others attempt: it reads the benefit guides for the credit cards you hold and reports what each trip is actually protected against. Which card paid, whether that card’s cancellation, delay and baggage cover activated, and the traps that switch it off, like paying with airline miles or splitting a fare. It also checks health plans and policies against the people actually travelling, tracks cancellation deadlines with reminders, and checks passports against entry rules. It has no place discovery, no map of things to do, and no route optimiser, so it is a poor Wanderlog substitute and a good companion to one.
Two more worth knowing, which we have not price-checked
Tripsy is a well-regarded itinerary app on Apple platforms, and Google Travel picks up reservations that land in Gmail and shows them without you doing anything. Both come up constantly in this comparison and both may be the right answer for you. We did not verify their pricing or their current feature sets in this round, so we are not going to quote either, and you should check their own pages rather than trust a number on ours. We would rather leave a gap than fill it with something we did not look at.

- Planning a route and deciding where to go: stay on Wanderlog, free tier included.
- Fifty flights a year and you want each one watched live: TripIt Pro.
- The bookings exist and the question is what protects them: TripTov.
- Already deep in Gmail and you want zero effort: look at Google Travel first.
