TripTov

Your card covers this trip. Or it doesn’t.

Forward a booking confirmation and it files itself. Then TripTov reads the benefit guides for the cards you actually hold and answers the question out loud, before you travel rather than after a claim.

Free. No subscription, no ads, no third-party tracking.

How it works

  1. Forward the confirmation

Flights, hotels, rental cars, cruises, activities. Send the email you already received to your own TripTov address and stop typing travel details into apps.

  2. It files itself

It reads the message and its attachments, works out which trip it belongs to, and files it with the dates, the confirmation code and the cancellation deadline attached, in the right time zone.

  3. Then it answers

It reads the benefit guides for the cards you hold, your policies and your passports, and reports what that specific trip is protected against.

The answer is in here. Nobody reads it.

Whether your trip is covered was decided by a document written to be defensible rather than clear. Cover attaches through the fare, not the trip, so how you paid decides what is protected.

Guide to Benefits · Trip Cancellation

…the Covered Trip must be purchased in its entirety with the Eligible Card and/or accumulated points from the Eligible Card Account. Coverage is not provided where any portion of the Common Carrier fare has been paid with a third party loyalty currency, redeemed miles issued by a Common Carrier, or any voucher not issued by the Card Issuer.

Reimbursement is limited to Non-Refundable amounts paid to a Travel Supplier and charged to the Eligible Card. A Travel Supplier does not include a vehicle rental agency, a parking facility, or any provider of ground transportation not sold as part of the Covered Trip…

Cancellation must arise from a Covered Loss. Change of plans, financial circumstance, and any condition for which the Insured Person sought or received medical advice in the sixty (60) days preceding the purchase date are excluded…

You paid for this flight with airline miles, so the baggage cover on that card never switched on.

Trip delay is unaffected. Two other cards in your wallet would have covered it.

Paying with airline miles
An award ticket can void some cards' baggage cover completely while leaving trip delay cover untouched. Same ticket, opposite answers.
Splitting one fare across two cards
Several cards want the entire fare before anything activates, so a split can switch off protection on both of them at once.
Assuming your health plan travels
Most stop at the border, and no credit card has ever covered medical treatment abroad. That is a different product entirely.

It never guesses

If a benefit guide does not grant something, TripTov says unknown rather than yes. A missing document, a failed lookup and an explicit exclusion are three different answers and it shows them as three different answers. That leaves some screens emptier than they could be, which is the trade we would rather make than be confidently wrong about somebody’s insurance.

More on how it thinks: the guides are written from the same rules the app applies to your own trips.

No ads, and nothing sold on

TripTov is free and does not sell your data. There is no advertising and no third-party tracking code. Where a gap is genuinely worth fixing, travel medical cover for a trip that has none or a data plan for somewhere roaming is punitive, it may link you to a provider and earn a commission if you buy. That never costs you more, and it never changes the answer.
