About TripTov

What it does

You forward a confirmation email — a flight, a hotel, a car, a cruise, an activity — to your own TripTov address. It reads the email and the attachments, works out which trip it belongs to, and files it. Dates, times, confirmation codes, cancellation deadlines and who is travelling all come out of the email itself, in the right time zone, without anyone typing them in.

What it does next is the part that took the longest to build. It reads the credit cards, travel policies and health plans you have on file, compares them against the trip you have just booked, and tells you where the gaps are: nobody on this trip has emergency medical cover, this fare was paid with airline miles so the baggage protection on that card never activated, this passport expires inside the six months the destination requires.

Why it exists

Travel cover is not usually missing because someone decided to go without it. It is missing because the answer is spread across four documents nobody reads at booking time — a card benefits guide, a health plan, a policy certificate and the booking itself — and each one is written to be defensible rather than clear.

So the app is built around one rule: never say you are covered when the honest answer is “we do not know”. A missing document, a failed lookup and an explicit exclusion are three different answers and are shown as three different answers. Being vague is safer than being confidently wrong when the consequence is someone skipping cover they needed.

How it is paid for

TripTov is free to use and does not sell your data. Where a gap is genuinely worth fixing — travel medical cover for a trip that has none, a data plan for a country where roaming is punitive — it may link you to a provider and earn a commission if you buy. That never costs you more, and it never changes the answer: coverage verdicts come from your own documents, not from who pays us. What it is not

Not a travel agency, an airline, an insurer, an insurance broker or a visa authority. It does not book anything, sell anything, issue any policy, or recommend a particular one. It reports what your own documents say and what they leave unanswered.
